The Langtang Gosainkunda Lake Trek commences after an hour drive from Kathmandu to the hiking trail of Sundarijal. Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu
Today you’ll arrive at the Tribhuvan International Airport, where our representative of Alpine Adventure Team will pick you up. From the airport, transfer to your hotel where you will be spending the rest of the day. Overnight stay at a hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 2: Drive from Kathmandu to Sundarijal 1460m and trek to Chisapani 2215m
Go towards Sundarijal which is a part of the Shivapuri National Park. Get the pass and then fight an uphill battle as you trek through the forests and minor settlements. The uphill trail crosses Mulkharka and after you have crossed the dense jungles you will reach Chisapani. You can explore the village and observe the lifestyle of the people there Overnight stay at Chisapani
Day 3: Trek from Chisapani to Kutumsang 2470m
The actual trekcommences from Chisapani. We cross the meadows and trek to PatiBhanjyang. From there, the trail descends and finally ascends to GulBhanjyang, which is a hill village and comprises mostly of Brahmin and Chhetri ethnicities. After crossing it, you arrive at Kutumsang. You also walk past numerous temples and monasteries to reach Kutumsang. Overnight stay at Kutumsang.
Day 4: Trek from Kutumsang to Thadepati 3690m
The trail to Thadepati goes through forests of rhododendrons, and you have to climb up an eroded trail which might be a bit steep. After we have reached Thadepati, the panoramic display of the Jugal Himal and Numbur Himal ranges, along with the Helambu valley can be seen clearly. Crossing Mangengoth, you finally arrive at Thadepati. Overnight stay at Thadepati.
Day 5: Trek from Thadepati to Phedi 3630m
The trail descends a bit, and then you have to walk on the mountainside. You initially head to Ghopte on the first half of the trek. After Ghopte, you reach Dhupi Chaur and cross rivers on several occasions to reach Phedi. Cross the rhododendron forests, and then hike all the way until you reach Phedi. Overnight stay at Phedi.
Day 6: Trek from Phedi to Gosainkunda Lake 4380m via Lauribina Pass 4610m
To reach the Gosainkunda Lake, we have to go through the Lauribina Pass, and the road to it from Phedi is a steep ascent. From a distance, the lakes appear as tiny dots and it is only when you go further do they appear big. The holy lakes welcome you. The views from the lake are absolutely mesmerizing. Day 7: Exploring the Lake
Today, we’ll explore the pristine lakes of Bhairav Kunda, Gosainkunda, and Dudhkunda. The GosainkundaLake attracts thousands of pilgrims annually, as it is believed that Lord Shiva was responsible for the creation of the lake. The rock on the middle of the lake is assumed to be the head of Shiva. Besides the myths involving the lake, the lavish display of natural beauty around the lake area is breath-taking. The Langtang ranges too can be seen magnificently from here. Overnight stay at Gosainkunda Lake.
Day 8: Trek from Gosainkunda Lake to Shin Gompa 3330m
The trail from Gosainkunda to Shin Gompa slowly transforms from ice and barren terrain to greenery and bamboo forests. As you descend, you can see the snowy mountains of Annapurna. Head to Shin Gompa, you can explore the monastery and observe the art, craft, and culture displayed here. Also, the people here too reflect the Tibetan-Buddhist culture on their lifestyle. Day 9: Trek from Shin Gompa to Dhunche 1960m
Our route ultimately leads us to Dhunche. It is also the starting point of the Langtang trek. It is the headquarters of Rasuwa District, and the trail to reach Dhunche, offers a beautiful view of the Langtang and Ganesh Himal ranges along with other famous mountains. The trekking trail proceeds through forests of Rhododendron, oak, and Bamboo to reach Dhunche. Overnight stay at Dhunche.
Day 10: Drive from Dhunche to Kathmandu by private vehicle
Today is the second last day of the trek which will mostly be spent in traveling. From Dhunche, head back to Kathmandu on a private vehicle. The road is rugged and shows you the wilderness of Nepal. Upon reaching Kathmandu, you can explore the city and the local markets for gifts and souvenirs. Overnight stay at a hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 11: Departure from Kathmandu
Today is the last day of your stay in Nepal. After a delightful breakfast, our representatives will drop you off at the Tribhuvan International Airport from where you will travel to your home country. Good Bye and visit again!
