Mardi Himal Trek located on the eastern edge of Annapurna Base Camp is one of the most stunning and mesmerizing treks around the Annapurna region. The trail which was started in 2012 sports mesmerizing views of the Annapurna Himalayan Range including other snow-capped Himalayas like Mt.Dhaulagiri (8,167m), Mt. Hiunchuli (6,441m) and Mt. Fishtail (6,997m). The trail winds through virgin pathways illuminated by traditional hamlets and into forests filled with brightly colored rhododendron before rising to meet the enchanting sightings of the Himalayas.
Like all Himalayan adventures in Annapurna region, we begin our Mardi Himal Trek from the City of Lakes, Pokhara. From Pokhara, we drive to Kande and trek to Deurali. Making our way through enchanting forests filled with rhododendron, we follow the trail to the mountain pass which overlooks the Modi Valley. We continue the journey through deserted landscapes and small hamlets as the trail pick up from Deurali extending towards Forest Camp and Badal Danda before settling down at High Camp at 3540m. We continue our exploration through Upper View Point before reaching Mardi Himal Base Camp at 4250m. Machhapuchhre (6,993m) and Mardi Himal (5,587m) loom directly above us piercing the deep blue skyline while the stunning panorama of Annapurna Massif envelops us from the distance. Mardi Himal Trek takes us through stunning landscapes, enchanting forests and small hamlets rich in ancestral and cultural heritage. Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu 1300m
Our representatives will be awaiting your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport. After collecting the luggage you will be driven directly to our hotel. You will be introduced to your guides and other company personnel which will wrap up the activities for the day. Overnight stay at a Hotel with Breakfast in Kathmandu.
Day 2: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara by tourist bus/6-7 hours and transfer to hotel.
From Kathmandu, we head towards the mesmerizing valley of Pokhara. The trail twists and turns stretching as far as eyes can see. The drive on Prithvi Highway soon settles down alongside the familiar rhythm of Trishuli River. Drenched in the beauty of stunning Hilly landscape we continue our journey to the city of lakes. As we arrive the clouds give way to reveal the snow-capped peaks on the horizon. Overnight stay at a hotel with breakfast in Pokhara.
Day 3: Drive from Pokhara to Kande 1770m and trek to Deurali 2142m/3-4 hours
Today we drive to Kande from Pokhara which will signal the true beginning of our trek. From here we begin our trek to Deurali. The lonely trail winds through forests and lonely hamlets accompanied by the pleasant solitude of the virgin trail. The trail ascends to reach the Australian Camp and eventually climb up to Deurali. Overnight stay at lodge/guesthouse in Deurali.
Day 4: Trek from Deurali to Forest Camp 2520m/4-5 hours
The trail continues out of Deurali speeding towards the nearing forests. Enveloped by pine trees, we continue for an hour before the brightly colored rhododendron welcome us. The sound of crunching leaves mixed with the calling of the birds makes for a lovely experience as we enjoy our packed lunch surrounded the beauty of nature. We continue our journey up and down through the forest trail before reaching Forest Camp. Overnight stay at lodge/guesthouse in Forest Camp.
Day 5: Trek from Forest Camp to BadalDanda 3268m/5-6 hours
The forests are covered by early morning fog as we begin our journey towards Badal Danda. The journey stretches through oaks and pine trees before revealing low camp. Our arrival at low camp will also signal our entry at the altitude of 3000m. From low camp, we continue our ascent through the rocky trail before reaching BadalDanda. Overnight stay at lodge/guesthouse in Badal Danda.
Day 6: Trek from BadalDanda to High Camp 3540m/4-5 hours
The views of BadalDanda from sunrise can only be described as breathtaking. As the rays of the sun dance on the white snow revealing the majestic Himalayas we can’t help but hold our breath. Mt. Machhapuchhre (6,997m), Hiunchuli (6,441m) and Annapurna South (7,219m) illuminate the skyline as we make our way to High Camp. After 3 hours of continuous ascend we reach High Camp. Overnight stay at lodge/guesthouse in High Camp.
Day 7: Explore to Upper View Point 4200m and Mardi Himal Base Camp 4500m/5-6 hours
Today will be the most strenuous and rewarding day of the entire trip as we make our way to Mardi Himal Base Camp. The rising altitude is evident with the changing landscapes as grassy fields give way to rocky ridges. The trail continues through the rocky hills and glacial lands towards the Upper View Point at 4200m. The stunning sights of Annapurna Range stretch ahead of us no longer obstructed by clouds. We continue to Mardi Himal Base Camp and the sights of the Himalayas are sublime, to say the least. Overnight stay at lodge/guesthouse in High Camp.
Day 8: Trek from High Camp to Siding 1700m/4-5 hours
Today, we begin our descent towards the village of Siding. From the High Camp, we continue to descend soon breaking into the pine and oak forests. Passing the low camp on our way, we follow the winding trail through forests filled with brightly colored rhododendron and into the village of Siding. Overnight stay at lodge/guesthouse in Siding.
Day 9: Trek from Siding to Lumre 1400m/3-4 hours and drive to Pokhara and transfer to hotel.
The trail continues in and out of brightly colored forests alive with the chirping of the birds and gurgling sound of jovial streams. The 3-hour trek to Lumre is a pleasant one with the chance to witness the traditional lifestyle of the region. From Lumre, we head to Pokhara on a jeep enjoying the stunning landscapes surrounding us. Overnight stay at a hotel with breakfast in Pokhara.
Day 10: Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu by tourist bus/6-7 hours and transfer to hotel.
Having our fill of the beauty of the city of lakes, we head out to Kathmandu. The journey soon overlaps the familiar Prithvi Highway and the thrashing of the Trishuli River. The hilly landscapes combined with the warm temperature instills a feeling of tranquility. We will end our day with a well deserve rest back at the hotel. Overnight stay at a hotel with breakfast in Kathmandu.
Day 11: Departure from Kathmandu
With all the souvenirs packed and nothing left behind our representatives will once again drop you back at Tribhuvan International Airport as per your international flight back to home. We hope you had a lovely time with us touring the Himalayas.
