Description

Manaslu Circuit Trek is considered as one of the best trek trails in Nepal. Although it is slightly remote, this amazing around Manaslu Trekking trail is slowly getting popular among national and international trekkers. Along with getting to see marvelous views of Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m) and Mt. Annapurna (8019m) and witness the wonderful Mt. Manaslu (8163m) itself, trekkers also get to experience the rich biodiversity and the local culture and heritage. Manaslu Trek Nepal offers much more than just the view of the mountains and is sure to give you one of the best trekking experiences.

Manaslu Circuit Trek Itinerary is a full 17 days trek which starts with a ride from Kathmandu to Arughat Bazaar. From there, enjoying the view of stunning landscapes and beautiful rivers, the journey continues from a trek to Soti Khola followed by Jagat, and finally to Deng. From Deng, the trek continues to Manrung and finally to the Manaslu Base Camp. Capturing the spectacular views of Mt. Manaslu (8163m), Annapurna II (7937m) and other mountains we continue the trek towards Samdo. Continuing along pasture lands, the trek heads to Dharamsala and the trail runs along Bimthang up to Larkya La Pass (5160m). This is the highest point of our trek from where the view of the magnificent mountains and the valley underneath is unexplainable. From there we move ahead to Tilije village. Enjoying the hospitality of the ethnic villages, we continue to Tal and finally to Syange, ending the trek. The best time for a Manaslu Circuit Trek in Nepal is March to May and September to Mid-December. Since excessive snow can make the journey harsh, it is better not to trek in Manaslu Circuit during peak winter and also in summer.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu 1300m
When you arrive in Kathmandu, our staff will receive you at the Tribhuvan International Airport and take you to the hotel. After reaching the hotel, you will get time to relax. You can also take a stroll around the alleys of Thamel and refresh yourself in the evening. Overnight stay at a hotel with breakfast in Kathmandu.

Day 2: Restricted Area Permit procedure
Manaslu Trek Circuit requires an area permit. Since it is a controlled and a government regulated area, we will have to process for the Restricted Area Permit for our team on this day. After completing the procedures, you can explore the city. Pashupatinath, Boudhanath, Swayambhunath, and Kathmandu Durbar Square are the places which are among UNESCO enlisted world heritage sites. Overnight stay at a hotel with breakfast in Kathmandu.

Day 3: Drive from Kathmandu to Arughat Bazaar 570m by private vehicle and trek to Soti Khola 730m/6-7 hours
The next morning, we start our journey from Kathmandu with a drive to Arughat Bazaar through Prithvi Highway on a private vehicle. Enjoying the beautiful views of the Trishuli River and some glimpses of the mountains in the background, we reach Arughat Bazaar. From there, we trek towards Soti Khola. Overnight stay at lodge/guesthouse in Soti Khola.

Day 4: Trek from Soti Khola to Machha Khola 930m/4-5 hours
The next day, we trek from Soti Khola up to Machha Khola. On the way, we pass through the sal forests, numerous waterfalls and relish the beautiful views of green landscapes and hustling rivers. The trail is steep and narrow until we reach green fields; hence, it will be a thrilling experience as we move towards the Gurung village. Overnight stay at lodge/guesthouse in Machha Khola.

Day 5: Trek from Machha Khola to Jagat 1370m/5-6 hours
We continue our trek from Machha Khola to Jagat which is a 6-7 hour route. We walk by the river banks and reach Khorlabesi where mostly coffee and buckwheat are grown. On the way, we can see alluring views of the mountains, Budhi Gandaki River and Dobhan Khola which will add to the beautiful moments of our journey. We reach the beautiful Jagat enjoying the gorgeous views. Overnight stay at lodge/guesthouse in Jagat.

Day 6: Trek from Jagat to Deng 1860m/5-6 hours
The next day, we trek from Jagat and ascend towards Deng passing through a cliff-side trail via Salleri. We walk pass through a suspension bridge to Philim which is a local Gurung village. Visiting the stupas and Gumbas nearby and observing the diverse culture and traditions of the locals, we pass through lush green millet fields to Ekle Bhatti. Crossing the Budhi Gandaki River we walk the wide trails and pass a bamboo forest to reach Deng. Overnight stay at lodge/guesthouse in Deng.

Day 7: Trek from Deng to Namrung 2540m/5-6 hours
The following morning, we leave early from Deng crossing the Budhi Gandaki River and climb up the trail towards the valley. As we move ahead, we can enjoy spectacular views of gigantic Himalayas at various places including the picturesque view of the Shringi Himal (7161m). We walk along the Rhododendron and Bamboo forests and we reach the village of Namrung Overnight stay at lodge/guesthouse in Namrung.

Day 8: Trek from Namrung to Sama Gaon 3390m/5-6 hours
We start our trek early morning from Namrung and walk pass beautiful barley fields and passed through Buddhist villages of Sho, Lho and Shyala along the way. You can see a lot of Tibetan influence in this area which is reflected in their lifestyle. The view from these villages is jaw-dropping as they are surrounded with peaks in Manaslu range and more. We reach the big village of Samagaon after a few hours of walk. Overnight stay at lodge/guesthouse in Samagaon.

Day 9: Hike to Manaslu Base Camp 4400m/4-5 hours
We hike for 3-4 hours to reach Manaslu Base Camp. Standing at the base of the snow-clad beauty; this view of Mt. Manaslu will leave you speechless. We can also visit the very famous Pungen Gompa and other nearby stupas which tell us more about the Tibetan Culture. A short hike to the nearby Birendra Tallying just below the Manaslu Glacier will be refreshing. The view and the experience of this day will be extremely memorable and rewarding. Overnight stay at lodge/guesthouse in Samagaon.

Day 10: Trek from Samagaon to Samdo 3690m/4-5 hours
We walk down towards the Budhi Gandaki River and cross the wooden bridge before we head towards the steep, dry and windy path. As we move higher, wonderful views of the Samdo Peak, Sama Valley, Manaslu Glacier, and Syacha Glacier can be seen. We trek for approximately 4-5 hours to reach Samdo. Overnight stay at lodge/guesthouse in Samdo.

Day 11: Trek from Samdo to Dharmasala 4460m/4-5 hours
The next day, we trek for 4-5 hours from Samdo to Dharmasala. Trekking through this rough and dry but an amazing trail, we pass through Larkya Bazaar. We move ahead along the trail up to the valley of Dharmasala towards the Larkya Glacier beyond the Larkya La Phedi. Spectacular views of the mountain range can still be seen from Dharmasala. Overnight stay at lodge/guesthouse in Dharmasala.

Day 12: Trek from Dharmasala to Bimthang 3590m via Larkya La Pass 5160m/6-7 hours
We trek from Dharmasala to Bimthang which is at 3590 meters. From Dharamsala, we head upwards on the steep and icy trail towards Larkya La Pass which is at 5160 meters. This rocky and adventurous trail is the highest point of our trek. From here, we can witness beautiful views of mountains such as Annapurna II (7937m), Himlung (7126m) and Cheo Himal (6812m). Overnight stay at Bimthang.

Day 13: Trek from Bimthang to Tilije 2300m/4/5-6 hours
The next day, we move from Bimthang and cross the Dudh Khola River. We walk downhill crossing the Rhododendron, Pine and Bamboo forests. It will take us approximately 5-6 hours to reach Tilije from Bimthang. We pass through the village of Gho and reach Tilije which is a big Gurung Village. You can interact with the locals there and learn about their culture and lifestyle. Overnight stay at lodge/guesthouse in Tilije.

Day 14: Trek from Tilije to Tal 1680m/4-5 hours
We head towards Tal from Tilije early morning. We move along the bamboo forest passing the Marsayangdi River and reach Dharapani. As we continue our walk, viewing amazing landscapes, rivers, and lakes, we reach the busy village of Tal. Once at Tal, we can explore the village and witness the mesmerizing views as well as the prevalent culture. Overnight stay at lodge/guesthouse in Tal.

Day 15: Trek from Tal to Syange 1150m/4-5 hours
The next day, we trek from Tal to Syange. We walk along the steep trails from Tal and cross Marsayangdi River via a suspension bridge. Passing through the amazing forests and waterfalls, we reach the Jagat Village and from there move ahead towards Syange. When we reach Syange in the evening, we will rest for the day. Overnight stay at lodge/guesthouse in Syange.

Day 16: Drive from Syange to Kathmandu by private vehicle/6-7 hours
After breakfast, we take a private vehicle and leave for Kathmandu from Syange. When we reach Kathmandu, we head towards our hotel and rest. In the evening, you can take a stroll around the nearby streets of the capital city. You can also shop for souvenirs at the local markets. Overnight stay at a hotel with breakfast in Kathmandu.

Day 17: Departure from Kathmandu
