Description

Pikey Peak Trek is one of the most unique and thrilling trekking routes in the Solukhumbu Region of Nepal. This trek allows us to explore the mystical Everest and the Lower Khumbu Region. Pikey Peak Trek Nepal is famous for its amazing view of the sunrise reflecting upon the magical Himalayan Range of Mt. Everest (8848m), Mt. Makalu (8463m), Mt Kanchenjunga (8586m), Mt. Lhotse (8414m), Mt. Gaurishankar (7134m), and much more. In addition to that, the uniqueness of the Sherpa culture and their traditions is something to look forward to in this trek.

Our journey of Pikey Peak Trek Itinerary starts from your arrival in Kathmandu. We drive all the way to Dhap Village and start our trek from there towards Jhapre. Exploring the small settlement in Jhapre we walk through Rhododendron forest towards the amazing Pikey Base Camp. The base camp offers great views of mountain panorama in the Everest region. Pikey Peak (4065m) is known to rival Kala Patthar viewpoint in terms of offering mesmerizing beauty to the travelers. After climbing the peak and witnessing the breath-taking views, we head to Junbesi. Here, we are allowed to explore the Sherpa culture from a close perspective and after a brief stop at Junbesi, we head to Phaplu and catch a flight to Kathmandu marking the end of the trip. The trek to Pikey Peak is known to be one of the easier treks offering sublime quality in the natural beauty of the Himalayas. All throughout the Pikey Peak short trek, you will be accompanied by the majestic Himalayas in the horizon well complimented by the rich history and heritage of the inhibiting Sherpa communities spread along the trekking route.

Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu
Our staff will be giving you a warm welcome as they will receive you at the Tribhuvan International Airport. Driving through the bustling capital city, we reach our hotel where we relax and prepare for our journey the next morning. Overnight stay at a hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 02: Full Day Guided Sightseeing Tour in Kathmandu Valley by private van.
On this day, you will be going on a sightseeing tour around the Kathmandu city. You will be visiting Pashupatinath, Boudhanath, Swayambhunath, and Kathmandu Durbar Square on the tour. These sites have also been enlisted as world heritage sites by UNESCO and are of great cultural and religious importance to the residents of the valley. You can also prepare for the trek and buy any necessary equipment. Overnight stay at a hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Dhap Bazaar 2850m/7 hours by private 4W land cruiser
We leave after breakfast to Dhap on a private vehicle. Driving on the hilly roads of Nepal and enjoying the views of Sun Koshi River and Tama Koshi River, we head towards Dhap Bazaar. We also pass through rhododendron forests and fleeting settlements. Upon reaching Dhap Bazaar, you can explore the area and rest for the journey ahead. Overnight stay at Dhap Bazaar.

Day 04: Trek from Dhap Bazaar to Jhapre 2815m/4 hours via Sigane
Relishing the amazing local Nepali food we head towards Jhapre passing through dense Rhododendron forest and local villages at various places. You will be able to see great views of Mt. Everest (8848m) and other mountains on the way. We also pass numerous monasteries and prayer flags decorate the villages on the way to Jhapre. Overnight stay at Jhapre.

Day 05: Trek from Jhapre to Pikey Base Camp 3640m/5 hours
We start our day early with a spectacular view of the sunrise lighting up the majestic mountains and covering them with golden rays of the sun. We trek along the grassy paths up to Bhulbhule from where we move forward enjoying our walk through the Rhododendron forest towards the small village of Lhamuje. We can also see many monasteries, Mani stones, and Buddhist stupas as we move ahead towards pasture lands with gazing Yaks. We reach the Pikey Base Camp looking at the amazing view of the mountain range. Overnight stay at Pikey Base Camp.

Day 06: Trek from Pikey Base Camp to Junbesi 2680m/6 hours via Pikey Peak 4065m
The next morning we walk through the rocky trail to witness a beautiful sunrise at the Pikey Peak. Amazing panoramic view of the mountain ranges in Everest, Langtang, Annapurna, Manaslu, and others can be seen from here. The experience from the summit will be extremely enchanting and memorable. After spending some time there, we trek towards Lamjura. Moving ahead, walking the steep forest trail, we finally reach Junbesi. Overnight stay at Junbesi.

Day 07: Exploration trip to Thuptenchholing Gompa 2920m/4 hours
Junbesi is a beautiful village mostly inhabited by the Sherpas who have rich and unique culture and traditions. We visit one of the oldest monasteries, the Thuptenchholing Monastery and get an experience of the local culture there. The monastery is a cultural heritage and reflects great riches of Sherpa culture. Following a day of excursion, we head back to Junbesi. Overnight stay at Junbesi.

Day 08: Trek from Junbesi to Phaplu 2380m/4 hours
We leave Junbesi early morning after breakfast and continue our trek to reach Salung. Stunning views of the valley below surrounded by mountains above it can be seen from here. We move towards Ringmo which is famous for its apples, apple made products and the vast apple orchards. As we approach the village of Taksindu we can also see the Taksindu Monastery. We then continue to Phaplu. Overnight stay at Phaplu.

Day 09: Fly from Phaplu to Kathmandu which takes about 35 minutes
We take a flight from the Phalpu Airport and head back to Kathmandu leaving behind the scenic beauty of the Himalayas. After we reach the hotel, we can spend the rest of the day strolling around the nearby streets and relaxing. We can also enjoy the services of the spas and massage centers in the city. Overnight stay at a hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 10: Buffer day due to flight cancellation or flight delay
This day is reserved in cases the scheduled itinerary does not come through as scheduled and get obstructed in any way. Flight cancellations and delays can cause disruption in the itinerary so, this day is sanctioned as a buffer day.

Day 11: Final Departure from Kathmandu
As our journey comes to an end, our staff will drop you at the International Airport. With amazing memories and a heavy heart, we bid you goodbye and hope that your stay with us has been a comfortable one. We wish for your safe journey back home.
