Our journey to Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek itinerary starts with a scenic drive from our capital city Kathmandu to Pokhara. From Pokhara, we begin to make the ascent to Ghorepani followed by a hike to Ghorepani Poon Hill to observe the sunrise. Then, we head to Tadapani and then descend to the hot springs at Jhinu Danda. Finally, the trekking ends as we head to Pokhara. The major attraction of this trekking journey is the beautiful sunrise view over the high snow-capped mountains from Ghorepani Poon Hill vantage point along with the incredible views of valleys, waterfalls, and forests of this region and the natural hot spring of the Jhinu Danda which is located on the bank of Modi Khola. Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu 1300m
On your arrival at Tribhuvan International airport, our staff will pick you up and drop you to the Hotel in Thamel. Overnight stay at a hotel on bed and breakfast basis in Kathmandu.
Day 2: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara 820m by tourist bus/6-7 hours
In the early morning, we will drive to Pokhara from Kathmandu. The drive will take us along the Prithvi Highway with views of roadside settlements, lush hills, and mountains lurking far on the horizon. On reaching Pokhara we will check-in a hotel for freshening up. In the evening we will visit Phewa Tal and explore the lakeside area. Overnight stay at a hotel on bed and breakfast in Pokhara.
Day 3: Drive from Pokhara to Nayapul and trek to Banthanti 2210m/6-7 hours
Today, we will drive to Nayapul from Pokhara. From Nayapul we will walk along the bank of Modi Khola to reach Birethanti. From Birethanti, the trail continues along the north bank of Bhurungdi Khola continued by a steep climb to the valley of Hille. A short walk from Hille will take us Tikhedhunga which further continues to the village Ulleri and finally to Banthanti. Overnight stay at lodge/guesthouse in Banthanti.
Day 4: Trek from Banthanti to Ghorepani 2920m/3-4 hours
It will be a short day hike to Ghorepani. We will continue along the forests of oak and rhododendron to Nangethanti. From Nangethanti, a short one hour walk will take us to Ghorepani. The views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain range are stunning from here. Upon reaching Ghorepani, we can explore the Gurung settlements here. Overnight stay at lodge/guesthouse in Ghorepani.
Day 5: Hike to Poon Hill 3210m and trek from Ghorepani to Tadapani 2630m/5-6 hours
We will leave Ghorepani as early as possible to enjoy the sunrise view of the over the mountains. A short one hour walk will take us Poonhill. The magnificent view of the sunrise over the mountains like Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m), Tukuche Peak (6920m), Nilgiri (7061m), Annapurna range and other numerous snowcapped mountain peaks. Enjoying the views we will descend back to Ghorepani and have our breakfast there. From Ghorepani, we will descend to Tadapani through the forests of oak, fir, and rhododendron. Overnight stay at lodge/guesthouse in Tadapani.
Day 6: Trek from Tadapani to Jhinu Danda (Hot Spring) 1780m/4-5 hours
It will be a short descending trek along the forested landscapes along with the beautiful views of the Annapurna massifs. The trail descends via Komrong Danda to natural hot spring of Jhinu Danda. We can have a hot relaxing bath at the hot spring which is believed to relieve pains and heal diseases. The hot spring is located just at the bank of the Modi Khola. Overnight stay at lodge/guesthouse in Jhinu Danda.
Day 7: Trek from Jhinu Danda to Pothana 1990m/5-6 hours
Today, we will descend along the suspension bridge over the Modi Khola to the famous village of Landruk. From Landruk, we will descend to Tolka and then the trail ascends Pitam Deurali, where we can get a chance to see the stunning views of the snow-capped mountains. Descending a bit, we will reach Pothana which offers a unique view of Machhapuchhre Himal (6997m). Overnight stay at lodge/guesthouse in Pothana.
Day 8: Trek from Pothana to Phedi 1130m/2 hours and drive to Pokhara 820m
Today’s trek will be easier and will descend all the way to Phedi. The trail descends along the downhill route to the Dhampus and further descends down until we will reach Phedi. From Phedi, we will drive back to Pokhara. On reaching Pokhara we will check-in the hotel to freshen up. Overnight stay at a hotel with bed and breakfast in Pokhara.
Day 9: Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu by tourist bus/6-7 hours
In the early morning, we will drive back to Pokhara from Kathmandu in our private vehicle. The drive takes us along the Trishuli River and offers great scenic views throughout the ride. On reaching Kathmandu we will check-in the hotel. We can explore around the hotel areas and also shop souvenirs. Overnight stay at a hotel on bed and breakfast basis in Kathmandu.
Day 10: Departure from Kathmandu
We will escort you to the Tribhuvan International airport for your scheduled flight bidding your final goodbye. We will wish you a safe flight and we will look forward to serving in near future.
