Everest Three High Passes Trek, as the name suggests, takes us to the three high altitude passes in the Everest region, namely: Kongma La Pass (5535m), Cho La pass (5420m), and Renjo La pass (5360m). It is one of the most adventurous and famous Everest Three Pass Trekking in Khumbu region which showers us with the views of the mountains like Mt. Everest (8848m), Mt. Lhotse (8414m), Mt. Nuptse (7861m), Mt. Thamserku (6608m), Mt. Ama Dablam (6856m) and many more. And the trek doesn’t stop just there, featuring the plethora of other beautiful spots like Gokyo Ri, Kalapatthar and Everest Base Camp, the trekkers can enjoy both the natural and cultural riches of the trekking regions.
Our journey to Everest Three Passes Trek Itinerary starts with the scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla and our trekking journey starts from Phakding. From Phakding, the next destination is Namche and the trek heads to Thame. Passing Renjo La Pass (5360m), the trek makes way to Gokyo. After a hike to Gokyo Ri, we follow on a trail that descends to Dragnag. The trek then crosses Cho La pass (5420m) and heads to Lobuche. After witnessing the majestic Himalayan views from Kala Patthar and Everest Base Camp, the trek descends and again ascends to reach Kongma La pass (5535m). Heading to Chhukung and Island Peak Base Camp, the trek then heads back to Namche with a brief stop at Tengboche. Everest 3 High Passes Trek is one of the most challenging and adventurous trekking routes so it is best suited for the true adventure lover who is seeking for the challenging trek in the Everest region. A good fitness level and a prior mountaineering experience are needed to accomplish this journey.

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu 1300m
On your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, one of our staff members will pick you up and transfer you to the hotel. You can rest for the day and prepare for the trek. Overnight stay at a hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 2: Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla 2840m and trek to Phakding 2610m/3-4 hours
In the early morning, after having our breakfast we will drive you along with the team to the domestic terminal of Tribhuvan International Airport and then we will catch a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. A short scenic flight over the hills and with the magnificent views of the mountains will finally take us to Lukla. On reaching Lukla, we will have our lunch and then we will head towards a Sherpa settlement called Phakding. Overnight stay at lodge/guesthouse in Phakding.
Day 3: Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar 3440m/5-6 hours
Our trail continues along the beautiful and dense forests of pine and rhododendron. On our way, we will cross many Sherpa settlements like Bengkar, Monjo, and Jorsalle. At Sagarmatha National Park checkpoint, we will take our permit and then we will continue along the bank of Dudh Koshi River until we reach the confluence of the Bhote Koshi and Dudh Koshi River. A steep ascends along the forested area will take us to the most prosperous trading village of this region, Namche Bazaar. Overnight stay at lodge/guesthouse in Namche Bazaar.
Day 4: Acclimatization Day
Today, we will utilize this day by exploring the places near Namche Bazaar and to acclimatize to the thinning of the air at this altitude. Today we will do a day hike to the Syangboche Airport (3700m), which is the highest airport and then we will further climb to Everest Hotel which a beautiful viewpoint to get the magnificent panorama of the mountains in Everest massif. While returning we will visit the Sherpa Museum and Sherpa Photo Gallery. Overnight stay at lodge/guesthouse in Namche Bazaar.
Day 5: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Thame 3820m/3-4 hours
After having our breakfast at Namche Bazaar, we will head towards the dense forests of pine and rhododendrons which passes along the bank of Bhote Koshi River. On our way, we will cross many ancient stupas and Mani walls at Phortse. From here, the trail steeply descends to the hydroelectricity plant of Khumbu and then continues to our final destination called Thame. Overnight stay at lodge/guesthouse in Thame.
Day 6: Trek from Thame to Lumde 4368m/4-5 hours
The trail will be quite difficult today. We will steeply climb to Taranga initially and then we will cross Marlung which is situated on the eastern bank of Bhote Koshi River. From here, the trail descends steeply downwards towards Lumde. Lumde is a Sherpa village and is known to offer warm hospitality. Overnight stay at lodge/guesthouse in Lumde.
Day 7: Trek from Lumde to Gokyo via Renjo La Pass 5360m/6-7 hours
Our trek starts from Lumde along the descending trail to a small stream where we will cross a suspension bridge and from here we will start to ascend to the Renjo La Pass (5535m). Our first ascend will be along the first lake which is called as Longpongo at 4690m. We will keep continuing to ascend to reach the second lake called Taboche Tsho. Enjoying the pristine views of the lakes and mountain panoramas, we head to the third lake called Dudh Pokhari and finally to Gokyo. Overnight stay at lodge/guesthouse in Gokyo
Day 8: Hike to Gokyo Ri 5360m and trek from Dragnag 4700m/3:30 hours
Today, we will hike up to Gokyo Ri. The mountain offers great views of Cho Oyu (8188m), Gokyo valley and the mountain ranges in the Everest region. We will see the Ngozumpa glacier clearly from here which is the biggest glacier of Nepal. We can enjoy the beautiful mountain panoramas like Cho you (8,188m), Gyachung Kang (7,922m), Everest ( 8848m), Lhotse (8,414m) and further way Makalu (8463m). Enjoying the beautiful views we will steeply descend via Gokyo Glacier to Dragnag. Overnight stay at lodge/guesthouse in Dragnag.
Day 9: Trek from Dragnag to Dzongla 4830m via Cho La Pass 5420m/6-7 hours
Today is the most difficult part of our journey. We climb to the Cho La Pass (5420m) with guidance and supervision of the trek guide and the Sherpas. We will also be using equipment like ice axe and crampons. Climbing slowly and steadily we will reach Cho La pass (5420m). The view from the top of the pass is absolutely incredible. From here, we will descend to Dzongla. Overnight stay at lodge/guesthouse in Dzongla.
Day 10: Trek from Dzongla to Gorakshep 5140m/5-6 hours
Initially, the trail passes through the ridgeline along the narrow path to Lobuche. We will stop at Lobuche for our lunch. Taboche (6367m) and Nuptse (7861m) can be clearly seen from Lobuche. We will further continue along the trail glacial moraine and we will reach Gorakshep. We can get the wonderful views of the mountains like Mt. Pumori (7165m), Nuptse (7861m), and other magnificent peaks. Overnight stay at lodge/guesthouse in Gorakshep.
Day 11: Hike to Kala Patthar 5550m and explore to Everest Base Camp 5364m
In the early morning along the rough roads, we will head towards Kala Patthar. The trail mostly passes through the rocky path and moraines to reach the best viewpoint of this region. We can get clear views of the sun rays falling on the silver lining of the Mt. Everest (8848m) and the neighboring peaks lining up to form a majestic panorama Enjoying and capturing the moments we will head towards Everest Base Camp. We will explore the surrounding Glaciers and view the mountains and then we will return back to Gorakshep. Overnight stay at lodge/guesthouse in Gorakshep.
Day 12: Trek from Gorakshep to Lobuche 4910m/2 :30 hours
Following the similar narrow path between the two glacial mountains and retracing the old paths along the forested areas, we will reach Lobuche. It will hardly take us 3-4 hours of time. We also cross the Lobuche pass (5110m) and Pyramid before arriving at Lobuche. In the evening we will explore the area. Overnight stay at lodge/guesthouse in Lobuche.
Day 13: Trek from Lobuche to Chhukung 4730m via Kongma La Pass 5535m/6-7 hours
Today, we will cross Kongma La pass (5535m) initially and then we will start to ascend towards Chhukung. Enjoying the spectacular mountain views like Cholatse (6335m), Taboche (6367m), Ama Dablam (6856m), and many other peaks, we will climb to Chhukung. We also pass Bibre on the way. Overnight stay at lodge/guesthouse in Chhukung.
Day 14: Trek from Chhukung to Tengboche 3860m/4-5 hours
Our trail today follows the bank of Imja Khola to Chhukung Ri. We will continue to ascend up to Island Peak Base Camp and then from there, we will descend steeply to Dingboche. The trail continues along the summer grazing fields and descends along the left bank of Dudh Koshi Valley to Tengboche. We will visit the famous Tengboche Monastery which is one of the spiritual centers in this region. Overnight stay at lodge/guesthouse in Tengboche.
Day 15: Trek from Tengboche to Namche Bazaar 3440m/4-5 hours
From Tengboche, the trek takes us through familiar Sherpa settlements whilst offering plenty of mountain views. The trek initially takes us to Phunki Tenga and then crosses the Imja River to reach Khumjung village. Steadily descending along forested trails and rugged paths take us back to Namche Bazaar. Overnight stay at lodge/guesthouse in Namche Bazaar.
Day 16: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla 2840m/6-7 hours
This will be our last day of trekking. We will continue to walk along the lush green and dense forest areas and the farmlands. We will also cross a few settlement areas before reaching Lukla. It is a beautiful valley having an airstrip. We will visit around the valley and celebrate the success of the trip later on the day. Overnight stay at lodge/guesthouse in Lukla.
Day 17: Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu
After having our breakfast we will walk to the airstrip and catch a scenic flight from Lukla to Kathmandu. On reaching Kathmandu we will transfer you back to the hotel. There are plenty of options to spend the day in Kathmandu. You can rest your weary bones and take massage sessions if needed. You can also explore the city and shop for souvenirs. Overnight stay at a hotel in Kathmandu with breakfast.
Day 18: Departure from Kathmandu 1300m
In the Early morning, we will drive you to the Tribhuvan International Airport for your scheduled flight bidding you the final goodbye.
