Among the Chulu range, the Chulu East Peak has garnered quite a bit of attention in recent years. Its popularity lies in the fact that it is comparatively easier than its counterpart the Chulu West peak. Residing in the northern parts of Manang, the Chulu east peak can be easily mounted by those who don’t have prior climbing experience. This amazing Chulu East Peak Climbing journey leads you through the dry trails of Manang and finally into the icy summit of the Chulu East peak where you get to witness the full glory of the Himalayas.
The trip is 19 days long and the first day is your arrival at Kathmandu. After meeting the company staffs and guides, you head to Jagat via the Prithivi Highway. From Jagat, you start your trek through various beautiful and rustic villages. Walk along the Marsayangdi river banks to reach Dharapani and after spending some time in the Tibetan settlement of Bagarchhap, we arrive at the headquarters of Manang, Chame. The route to lower Pisang gives you a display of Swarga Dwari and many pine forests. Proceed to Ngawal by traversing a Gurung village Humde. The barren lands take us to the grazing land of Yak Kharka. The rocky land now gives way to snowy and slippery track as we head to the Chulu East base camp. From here, we now head to the high camp and from here, we climb the summit of the Chulu east peak. The peak provides an amazing display of mountains like Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre, and Tilicho peak. After conquering the summit, fall back to the base camp and descend to Manang. Visit the Gangapurna Lake and head to Ledar. The road takes you to the Thorung High Camp via the Thorung Phedi. From the high camp, we move to Muktinath by crossing the Thorung La Pass. The pass provides amazing views of the Kaligandaki valley and the neighboring environment. From the pass, we head to Muktinath and spend some time praying in the temple premises. Take part in the morning ritual and trek to Jomsom. Shop for some apples there and then catch a flight that leads to Pokhara and ultimately to Kathmandu where this trip will end.
