Description

The Chulu massif is a part of the Damodar Himal range that lies in the northern part of Manang valley. Chulu West Peak climbing trip provides you with an excellent view of the Annapurna massif as well as the region. In comparison to its cousin Chulu East, the Chulu West presents more difficulties and requires technical skills and thus, it is more favored by mountaineers who are enthusiastic about climbing. The Chulu West Peak Climbing trip offers travelers an opportunity to dwell deep into the wilderness of the Annapurna region and make a cultural journey to Muktinath.

The trip takes 18 days to complete and the first day you arrive at Kathmandu. From there you head towards Jagat via the Prithivi Highway. From Jagat, you make your way along the Marsayangdi River and walk uphill before stopping at Koto village. The first stop is Dharapani, a beautiful village where Gurung and Tibetan coexist. The road leads to Chame which is the headquarters of Manang district. You can observe mountains like Annapurna, Lamjung Himal, and Gangapurna from here. Spend a night in Chame before heading out to Upper Pisang. You will walk through Swarga Dwari which is an ancient village that is believed to be holy. We reach Manang after walking from Ngawal. A day will be spent on acclimatizing here. During that period, you can explore its Mani walls and Gangapurna Lake. Move through Yak Kharka to arrive at Ledar which is the final resting point below the Chulu west base camp. As we move ahead, we can see glimpses of snow. From the base camp, we proceed toward the high camp and finally to the summit of the Chulu West Peak. The view of the mountains of the Annapurna region is simply amazing from here. Proceed to the base camp once again and venture towards Thorung Phedi, which is a small settlement beside the Kone River. The next day, we move to Muktinath by crossing the dangerous Thorung La pass. The pass provides picturesque views of the surrounding ambiance. We spend the night at the holy Muktinath and bath in its many taps. The trail dwindles to Jomsom and after exploring the Lubra village, we fly to Pokhara. Do some last-minute shopping and fly to Kathmandu where this amazing trip shall end.
