Your voyage of Annapurna Base Camp Trek Route initiates at the City of Lakes, ‘Pokhara’ which is 200 km from the capital Kathmandu. The serpentine highway may make you feel a bit giddy, but the lush greenery and the roaring rivers are bound to entertain you. At Pokhara, let the Phewa Lake and Fishtail Mountain (6997m) mesmerize you. Head to Phedi, from where the actual trek begins. Trek through forests of rhododendrons, pine, and oak and feel the challenging nature of this trek. Your bravery is rewarded with beautiful sceneries, and once you reach Jhinu Danda, your rewards grow even more. Your journey towards the Annapurna Base Camp takes you through Bamboo and Deurali. You will encounter minor settlements and villages. Don’t forget to interact with the locals residing there and learn about their way of life. Once you reach the Annapurna base camp, you’ll be amazed by the sheer magnitude of the mountain and the serenity around it. The descent backward starts from Dobhan and you’ll cross bridges along the way. As we make our route to Pokhara, we cross the villages of Chhomrong and Ghandruk. These villages are famous as they provide a picturesque view of the sapphire horizon and the ever shining peaks of Annapurna and Fishtail Mountain. Once you reach Pokhara, head back towards Kathmandu with a head full of memories and a camera filled with photographs.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu
Today you’ll arrive at the Tribhuvan International Airport, where our representative of Alpine Adventure Team will pick you up. From the airport, transfer to your hotel where you will be spending the rest of the day. Overnight stay at a hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 2: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara 820m by tourist bus
The commencing point of the trek is Pokhara, which takes about 6 hours to reach from Kathmandu. Admire the beauty of the highway as you observe roaring rivers, emerald hills, and the Himalayas in the distant horizon. Upon reaching Pokhara, you will check-in at the hotel. You can explore the city and the lakeside area. Overnight stay at a hotel in Pokhara.

Day 3: Drive from Pokhara to Phedi 1130m and trek to Tolka 1700m
To inaugurate the trek, we first drive towards Phedi where you begin our trek towards Tolka. From Phedi, the trail rises and it gradually shows you glimpses of the trek. You’ll cross bridges, minor settlements and you’ll always be accompanied by the greenery and mountains. On the way, you pass Pothana and Pitam Deurali to reach Tolka. Overnight stay at Tolka.

Day 4: Trek from Tolka to Jhinu Danda 1780m
On the trek today, you pass Landruk and Samrung on the way to Jhinu Danda. Jhinu Danda is famous for its natural hot springs. A few minutes in the spring is soothing enough to make you forget all your worries, and you’ll feel the strain leaving your body. People believe that this spring consists of magical and healing properties. Overnight stay at Jhinu Danda.

Day 5: Trek from Jhinu Danda to Bamboo 2310m
The route from Jhinu Danda to Bamboo provides insights about the lifestyle of people in the Annapurna region. To reach Bamboo, you have to walk through steep descents and cross the Sinuwa village. The route goes through forests of rhododendrons with a backdrop of the snowy mountains. Following the Modi River, you trek to Khuldighar and then to Bamboo. Overnight stay at Bamboo.

Day 6: Trek from Bamboo to Deurali 3230m
The trail from Bamboo to Deurali takes you through several rivers and small waterfalls. Traverse the forests where you’ll be accompanied by the chirping of birds. Head further until you reach the roaring Modi Khola. You’ll be accompanied by the towering peaks and you’ll see the landscape slowly change. Leaving Bamboo, the trail heads to Dovan and follows Modi River. Overnight stay at Deurali.

Day 7: Trek from Deurali to Annapurna Base Camp 4130m
To reach Annapurna Base Camp, you have to go through the Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3700m). Although the trek is a bit strenuous, we can get an astounding view of the Annapurna Mountain range. As we head towards ABC the vegetation disappears, and when inside the sanctuary the Annapurna towers before us. On the ascent, you might come across snowy and slippery trails. The mountains like Annapurna I (8091m), Annapurna South (7219m), Machhapuchhre (6997m), Lamjung Himal (6983m) among numerous others. Overnight stay at Annapurna Base Camp.

Day 8: Trek from ABC to Dobhan 2600m
The trek From ABC to Dobhan shows you the difference that altitude can make while trekking. The barren snowy terrain slowly transforms into lush green pastures, rice fields, and greenery. Cross bridges, climb the trails and ultimately make your way into the quaint settlement of Dobhan. You cross Himalaya on the way to Dobhan. Overnight stay at Dobhan.

Day 9: Trek from Dobhan to Chhomrong 2170m
The route from Dobhan to Chhomrong is a bit hard as the pain of the previous days begin to accumulate too. The steep trail crosses through the forests of rhododendrons and oak. Chhomrong village sits on a hillside and provides astounding views of Annapurna (8091m) and Mt. Fishtail (6997m). Retracing the steps, you will pass Sinuwa and Tilche to reach Chhomrong. Overnight stay at Chhomrong.

Day 10: Trek from Chhomrong to Ghandruk 1940m
The downhill descent takes us to the Kimrong Khola. We cross the river and then climb the Kimrong Danda. It doesn’t matter if the trail is uphill or downhill, you have to walk a lot. Along the route, you can admire the views of mountains in Annapurna ranges. Passing Chhomrong pass on the way, you trek towards Ghandruk. Overnight stay at Ghandruk.

Day 11: Trek from Ghandruk to Nayapul 1070m and drive to Pokhara 820m
The endearing descent from Ghandruk to Nayapul is the last piece of the Annapurna Base Camp trek. If you wish to see the amazing sunrise light up the Himalayas, then Ghandruk is the ultimate destination to do so. Cross the paths of forests and rice fields and finally reach Nayapul. From Nayapul, you head to Pokhara on a short drive and feel free to explore the city upon reaching there. Overnight stay at a hotel in Pokhara.

Day 12: Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu by tourist bus
The second last day of the trip will be spent mostly on traveling. Head back to Kathmandu on a tourist bus, and you can either admire the views of the highway or enjoy a well-deserved rest on this delightful journey. You can explore the markets in the valley and shop souvenirs to take back with you. Overnight stay at a hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 13: Departure from Kathmandu
Today is the last day of your stay in Nepal. After a delightful breakfast, our representatives will drop you off at the Tribhuvan International Airport from where you will travel to your home country. Good Bye and visit again!
